Good for Santos boys. I wonder if it will be their top team playing only in NPL or doubling up with SCCL? The tough part of NPL is the teams change so much from year to year as teams drop out for better options so it is a mess to know what you have for the next season

Anyone know why Ambush Girls won’t be continuing in NPL next year? One and done? They following Santos and the DPL route like Impact did.

I heard the coaches didn’t like it but not sure if that’s true. Haven’t heard anything about DPL but I think they applied. With more clubs joining SCCL I guess it’s possible their top girls teams are going back there.

That will be the top team out of there now for all age groups Girls/Boys. I think this is an attempt to steal some players back that have moved to MOBA or AFC the last few years. Lets be honest MOBA is playing in a defunct GA Soccer that has no one in it now. I had heard they lost their USL team? Is that true? If MOBA doesn't figure something out they might start losing folks back to Coweta especially with the new park (that will drain a ton better than Whitlock) being built soon.

Good to see SSA giving another branch a bit of a bone, maybe they learned their lesson after losing most of Buckhead in one night.

Good to see SSA giving another branch a bit of a bone, maybe they learned their lesson after losing most of Buckhead in one night. What happened? I haven't heard this one It’s been a year and I’m sure there are dozens of different interpretations but from what I was told, SSA brought in the Buckhead branch a few years ago but never gave them much respect. It was a huge cash cow and maybe the most profitable branch. Fields were bad and practices routinely were canceled if Galloway had rain that week or a soccer game or track meet. Last year a developer was looking to buy the property at Galloway and SSA allegedly turned down the chance to buy the field after already losing Wieuca to a different developer. So, SSA couldn’t guarantee a field in Buckhead long term and allegedly didn’t renew any of the coaches contracts. Central coaches were going to come down when they could for practices. Word got out, Simon had an emergency call with all the parents that didn’t go well at all and took things from bad to mostly NASA after that. ETA they lost hundreds of kids and if you look at their website Buckhead is almost nonexistent now.

Getting something like this added was the next logical step for the rebuild of that location. The academy program on the boys side at least is flourishing, and keeping most of those kids there through their select ages I think it is their goal along with trying to further rebuild the girls side which is still lagging a bit. How much this ultimately helps still is unknown. You still have to have good coaches and training spaces that doesn't cancel when it just spits a little from the sky. It would be nice for less politics as well, but I know that is pie in the sky talk!
